New Exterior Door Installation
- Service
- Carpentry
- Location
- On request
- Scope
- Existing exterior door removed · Opening prepped and squared · New exterior door unit installed · Weather sealing and trim finished
Case Study
A full exterior door replacement — the old unit removed, the opening squared, a new weather-sealed door installed and the trim finished.
- Challenge
- An exterior door has to sit square and sealed or it lets weather and air past its edges. The existing opening needed to be prepared before a new unit could be trusted to close and seal properly.
- Approach
- The old unit came out first so the opening could be assessed, corrected and squared before the new door was set into it.
- Execution
- The existing door was removed, the opening prepped and squared, the new exterior unit installed to sit plumb, and weather sealing and trim completed around it.
- Result
- A new exterior door that opens true, seals against the weather and finishes cleanly into the surrounding trim.
